Risk Management Specialist Full Time

Our client is a service provider to financial services with offices in Larnaca, Cyprus.

On their behalf, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join their team as a Risk Management Specialist.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with their cryptocurrency operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across various aspects of the company’s operations.
• Conduct risk assessments and analyses to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in the cryptocurrency market, regulatory environment, technology infrastructure, and business processes.
• Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks in the cryptocurrency industry and assess their potential impact on the company.
• Develop risk mitigation strategies and controls to address identified risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, legal, finance, and technology, to integrate risk management considerations into business processes and decision-making.
• Implement risk monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track key risk indicators (KRIs) and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
• Conduct training and awareness programs to educate employees about risk management principles, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in audits, reviews, and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of risk management controls and processes and recommend improvements as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, risk management, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) preferred.
• Proven experience in risk management roles, preferably in the cryptocurrency, financial services, or technology industry.
• Deep understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and frameworks, with specific knowledge of risks inherent in the cryptocurrency market.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks relevant to the cryptocurrency industry, such as anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency in risk management software and tools is a plus.
